Resources for occupational health and safety

Here is a list of resources that provide reliable information about identifying risks, preventing injuries, treating work-related injuries, and building a a healthy workforce. We are just starting to build this list. Please let us know of other resources you think we should add.

OSHA. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (U.S. gov). Safety rules and enforcement, training, recognition, in all 50 states.

BLS. Bureau of Labor Statistics (U.S. gov). Source of data for fatal and non-fatal work-related injuries by occupation, state, age, and other factors.

NIOSH. National Institute for Safety & Health (U.S. gov). The federal agency that conducts research and makes recommendations for preventing work-related injury and illness. NIOSH is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

WHO. World Health Organization. Gives statistics and descriptions of global diseases and health challenges.

NSC. National Safety Council. Promotes safety at home and in the workplace.

WorkersCompensation.com. Claims to be the national online center for news and information about workers' compensation in the U.S.

ANA. American Nurses Association. Discusses trends in nursing, including occupational health and other work-related medical services.
